Office of Motor Vehicles

Recognizing the vital link between the office of motor vehicles and the Louisiana Organ and Tissue Donor Registry – Legacy has developed educational training programs and promotional campaigns celebrating the partnership between Donate Life Louisiana and the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles. Since June, 2008 we have trained more than 650 OMV field office staff on organ donations facts, myths and misconceptions, and the important role they play in asking the question “Would you like to register as an organ and tissue donor?” to all of their customers.

We collaborated in a promotional campaign for the Donate Life Rose Parade Campaign which raised funds to dedicate roses in honor of donor family members, transplant recipients, and all those that said “yes” to donation , on the Donate Life Rose Parade float in 2009. This campaign resulted in a best practice receiving national recognition by Donate Life America.

Legacy Donor Foundation continues to partner with the OMV in other Donate Life Louisiana activities, events and promotions.
